About the event

In this session, we will explore the intersection of Ignatian spirituality and 12-step recovery, with the goal of helping Ignatian directors better understand and serve those who are in recovery. Join us for teaching and conversation between Dale Gish, Bethany Dearborn Hiser, and Sara Wevodau on this topic. 


Bethany Dearborn Hiser is the director of soul care for Northwest Family Life, a network of therapists trained to work with survivors of domestic violence and sexual trauma. As a bilingual social worker, chaplain, and pastoral advocate, Hiser has worked in a variety of ministry and social service settings with people affected by addiction, sexual exploitation, incarceration, and immigration. Bethany wrote the book From Burned Out to Beloved: Soul Care for Wounded Healers.


Sara Wevodau is the Director of Women's Housing and Therapeutic Programs at New Earth Recovery in Washington State. New Earth Recovery is a Christian organization operating residential recovery programs…
