About the event

Christian counselors have discovered that some ways of praying help us move through and out of anxiety, while others can make anxiety worse. In this workshop/retreat, we will explore the difference between prayers that relieve anxiety and prayers that hinder peace. We will have an extended time to pray with anxiety-reducing prayer techniques that lead us to peace and holy indifference, and then share our graces together.

You may be drawn to this for personal reasons. Or, you may find it helpful if you are a Spiritual Director or Spiritual Listener for others struggling with anxiety. We will draw on insights from Nader Sahyouni, LCPC's book Anxiety Transformed.

Testimonial from Dale Gish: "I was able to participate in a version of this workshop and found it very helpful and significantly aligned with Ignatian spirituality. I highly recommend this session."
