About
Kenda is a spiritual director who loves journeying with people as they pursue greater intimacy with Jesus. Creating space to listen and discern together as people give intentional, focused attention to their relationship with God through all of life's ups and downs, twists and turns is what Kenda enjoys. She has discovered that although people tend to seek spiritual direction when they feel stuck, it's just as important, if not more so, to press into what God might be doing/saying in times when things seem to be going well. It gives her great joy as she meets with people and they together listen for the voice of Jesus, look for where the Holy Spirit is working and experience deeper the love of the Father.
Kenda has an MDiv majoring in counseling and has completed the spiritual direction certification through SoulFormation. She also has coaching training and is a registered clinical counselor in BC but her heart resonates most with spiritual direction. She has been in ministry with the Alliance for many years and has served in a few different churches across Canada with the most recent being in Squamish where she and her husband, Darcy, planted and co-pastored the River Church. After being there for 16 years, they sensed God leading them in a new direction and are now living in Nanaimo, BC where Kenda is able to have more time for offering spiritual direction and leading seminars and retreats.
In her spare time, Kenda enjoys many outdoor activities, reading, crafts, traveling and meeting friends for tea. She has 4 young adult children and loves it when they all come home.
